The 2027 Rogue Hybrid reaches American dealers this week, with only the all-wheel drive SR available at first.
Nissan announced on 30 October that the 2027 Rogue Hybrid is going on sale in the United States, reaching dealers the following week. It uses the e-POWER system, with a petrol engine that only generates electricity for two electric motors, and the EPA rates it at 38 mpg combined. The all-wheel drive SR launches first.
Nissan's first Rogue Hybrid reaches American dealers this week, with the company announcing on 30 October that the 2027 model is on sale. It is the Rogue's first hybrid, and it runs on the e-POWER system Nissan has been building its electrified future around.
How the e-POWER Rogue works
The set-up is not a conventional parallel hybrid. Nissan says the petrol engine does nothing but generate electricity, and dual electric motors do all the driving. The company argues that this gives sharper, more natural-feeling response off the line than a hybrid that mixes engine and motor power at the wheels.
Nissan describes the Rogue Hybrid as the only hybrid in its class with a drivetrain that is 100% electric in operation, and says the layout brings quiet and smooth progress. The EPA estimates are 41 mpg city, 36 mpg highway and 38 mpg combined for the SR.
The maker also makes performance claims against the mainstream midsize crossover class, based on AMCI-certified testing: it says the car has the quickest and quietest acceleration in the segment, plus the best 60-0 mph braking. Those comparisons are Nissan's own and cover hybrids only, not petrol, electric or plug-in rivals.
Trims and timing
- The first cars are the all-wheel drive SR with the SR Technology Package.
- Nissan expects those in limited numbers from late November 2026.
- The SV, SR and Platinum trims complete the range in early 2027.
Nissan expects additional trims in January 2027, and tells buyers to ask their local dealer about stock.
Where to see it
The Rogue Hybrid makes its public show debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show, which runs from 20 to 29 November. Nissan will display the car on its stand during the show.
Tiago Castro, Nissan and Infiniti's senior vice president for US marketing and sales, called the car the next step in the brand's American growth. He said the aim was a hybrid that would bring the efficiency, performance and refinement customers ask for.
The e-POWER system was recently named to the 2026 Wards 10 Best Engines and Propulsion Systems list. Nissan has published a full press kit with pricing, specifications and photographs, though the announcement itself gave no price for the Rogue Hybrid.
