The ninth-generation Camry reaches US dealers this fall with a 2.5-liter hybrid, five grades and standard Toyota Safety Sense 3.0.
Toyota has released the 2027 Camry, a car sold only with hybrid power that reaches US dealers this fall. The 2.5-liter hybrid makes 225 net-combined horsepower in front-wheel-drive form and 232 with optional all-wheel drive. The manufacturer's suggested retail price, excluding dealer processing and handling, starts at $29,700.
Toyota will sell the 2027 Camry only as a hybrid. The company says the ninth-generation car reaches dealerships this fall, with a manufacturer's suggested retail price starting at $29,700 before dealer processing and handling charges. Five grades are offered: LE, SE, Nightshade, XLE and XSE.
Hybrid drivetrain
Every Camry uses the fifth-generation Toyota Hybrid System, called THS 5, paired with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. Toyota puts output at 225 net-combined horsepower on front-wheel-drive models and 232 with all-wheel drive. The LE front-drive version carries a manufacturer-estimated 51 MPG combined rating. An electronically controlled continuously variable transmission matches the ratio to throttle input.
All-wheel drive is available on all five grades. It adds a motor on the rear axle and shifts torque between the front and rear wheels as conditions change. When the system senses slippery roads or lost grip, Toyota says it can send more torque to the rear wheels.

Design, cabin and technology
The design comes from Toyota's CALTY studios in Newport Beach, California, and Ann Arbor, Michigan, and carries the brand's hammerhead front end. LED headlights are standard across the range. Wheel sizes run from 16-inch alloys on the LE to 19-inch units on the Nightshade and XSE.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard on every grade, along with Qi wireless phone charging. The base 8-inch touchscreen can be swapped for a 12.3-inch unit on select grades. Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, and the Premium Plus Package on XLE and XSE adds Traffic Jam Assist and a panoramic view monitor.
The cabin changes with each grade. The LE uses woven fabric with an embossed wave pattern, while the SE and Nightshade get sporty seats with white accents. The XLE blends leather with microfiber trim, and the XSE comes with leather and perforated seat surfaces. Heated front seats are standard on the XLE and XSE, and ventilated front seats are available on both. The XLE and XSE also get 8-way power-adjustable front seats and a standard 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster.
The 2027 Camry is assembled at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, in Georgetown. Toyota's basic new-vehicle warranty runs 36 months or 36,000 miles, and powertrain cover extends to 60 months or 60,000 miles. The hybrid battery carries a 10-year, 150,000-mile warranty and transfers between owners.
