The short answer

NHTSA has published a Toyota recall of 68,356 Lexus NX cars from the 2022 to 2024 model years in the United States. The dashboard meter may not show some warnings, so the cars do not meet a federal display standard. Dealers will update the meter software free of charge.

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing is recalling certain 2022 to 2024 Lexus NX250, NX350, NX350 Hybrid and NX450h+ vehicles in the United States. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has logged the recall as campaign 26V687, with a potential 68356 units affected.

NHTSA said the combination meter in the instrument panel cluster may not display certain warnings or indicators. The vehicles therefore do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 101, Control and Displays.

The regulator said a display that does not show oil pressure, coolant temperature or electrical charge raises the risk of a crash.

The remedy

Dealers will update the combination meter software at no charge to owners. Letters to owners are expected to go out on December 7, 2026.

Toyota customer service can be reached on 1-800-331-4331, and the maker's own reference for this recall is 26LA10. NHTSA's record shows no park-outside advisory, no do-not-drive advisory and no over-the-air remedy.

What we know so far

  • The potential number of units affected is 68356.
  • The component involved is the instrument cluster and panel.
  • The fix is a software update to the combination meter, applied by dealers at no cost.
