The short answer

Bentley has revealed a First Edition of the new Torcal, built around the most powerful version of the car: 888 PS and 1,350 Nm. It reaches 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds and 162 mph, and adds unique 22-inch wheels, bespoke seat quilting and a long list of standard equipment.

Bentley has dressed the most powerful version of its new Torcal as a launch special. The First Edition produces 888 PS and 1,350 Nm, the highest outputs offered for the car, and the company says it reaches 60 mph from rest in 2.8 seconds. Top speed is 162 mph (260 km/h).

The idea, according to Bentley, is to bundle features and finishes that buyers would normally pick one at a time. The result is meant to mark the Torcal's arrival with a cabin and an exterior set apart from the rest of the range.

Outside

The visual changes start at the wheels. The 22-inch wheels are unique to this edition: gloss black, with Liquid Silver spokes and self-levelling Bentley badges at the centre. Bentley says the combination gives the Torcal a more assertive and sporting stance than the standard car. Behind them sit brake calipers in Graphene Grey, supplied by Mulliner. A First Edition badge on the front fender is the only other outward signal, and Bentley calls it a subtle one.

Inside and equipment

The cabin gets its own seat quilting, with contrasting chevrons, and treadplates that light up with the First Edition name. Bentley says the aim is a cabin with a character of its own. Buyers also gain a wider palette: extra colour splits, two of them by Mulliner, plus eight accent colours and the option of a third interior colour. A full leather interior and contrast stitching can be chosen, and Gloss Carbon Fibre trim is fitted as standard, with other finishes available at no extra cost.

Comfort is covered by deep-pile overmats, Wellness front seats and the Rear Comfort Seat Specification, which adds ventilation and comfort headrests for the two outer rear passengers. Two of the Torcal's newer features come as standard on the edition: doors that open under power, front and rear, and the Frosted Diamond Switchable Sunroof. Bentley says they change both the arrival and the cabin atmosphere.

Then there is the sound system. The Naim for Bentley setup has 28 speakers and 1,780 W of output, adds transducers in the seats and speakers in the front headrests, and supports Dolby Atmos 7.1.4.
