The 10th Dubai International Baja, running from November 5 to 8, closes both 2026 championships.
The season-ending Dubai International Baja runs November 5-8 with 35 cars entered. The FIA said Portugal's Francisco Barreto is best placed to take the overall and Ultimate World Baja Cup titles.
Both 2026 FIA Baja Cups, the World Cup and the Middle East Cup, will be settled at the 10th Dubai International Baja from November 5th to 8th, the FIA said. Dubai Festival City is the base, and the Emirates Motorsports Organisation (EMSO) is the organiser.
The finale has attracted a 35-car field. By category, the entries are seven Ultimate crews, nine Challenger, 14 SSV and five Stock.
Who is racing for what
- Eleven teams will compete for FIA World Baja Cup points.
- Fifteen teams have registered for the FIA Middle East Baja Cup.
This year marks the Baja's 10th anniversary since it replaced the Dubai International Rally, a name that traced back to a non-championship event in 1981. H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, is the patron of the event.
The title picture
Portugal's Francisco Barreto and his crew finished second overall and picked up 80 points in the previous round in Qatar towards their FIA World Baja Cup challenge. According to the FIA, that leaves them best placed to win both the overall and Ultimate titles in Dubai.
Dania Akeel is on the sidelines and out of the equation, and Lionel Baud finished his six-event allocation in Qatar. The FIA said Saood Variawa is the only driver who can prevent Barreto from taking the Ultimate class title. It described the overall Drivers' Championship as a little more complex, with a Challenger champion-elect also in the picture.
The FIA has not yet published results from the event, which has still to start.
