Franco Colapinto and Pierre Gasly lost their eighth and tenth places after separate yellow flag infringements.
Alpine's Colapinto and Gasly lost eighth and tenth places at the Mexico City Grand Prix when the stewards penalised each for failing to slow under yellow flags. Red Bull's Isack Hadjar and Haas newcomer Ryo Hirakawa move up to ninth and tenth.
Alpine's Franco Colapinto and Pierre Gasly have been dropped out of the points in Mexico City, with the stewards penalising both drivers after the race. Colapinto was classified eighth and Gasly tenth before the penalties were applied.
Each driver was summoned to the stewards for a separate yellow flag infringement. Colapinto was found to have failed to slow in a single yellow sector, and Gasly in a double yellow.
The penalties
- Colapinto: a 10-second penalty.
- Gasly: a stop-and-go penalty.
The penalties dropped both men down the final classification. Red Bull's Isack Hadjar is promoted to ninth, and Haas newcomer Ryo Hirakawa to tenth.
How the race had gone for Alpine
Alpine had come through the 71-lap race at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez with a double points finish. Gasly had outqualified his team mate, but Colapinto had the better start and improved from 11th to seventh over the opening laps.
The penalties undo that result and leave the team without points from the race.
