Alfa Romeo's four-door 2+2 Cuorerosso is a design and technology study, not a preview of a confirmed production car.

The short answer

Alfa Romeo has unveiled the Cuorerosso, a four-door 2+2 concept shown ahead of the Paris Motor Show in October 2026. The proposed powertrain combines a 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged V6 with electric propulsion and Q4 all-wheel drive. Alfa Romeo treats it as a design and technology study, not a preview of a confirmed production model.

Alfa Romeo has put a red heart in the name and a twin-turbo V6 hybrid in the plan, yet it describes the Cuorerosso as a study and not a preview of a confirmed production car. The four-door, 2+2 concept had its first showing at a preview event staged before the Paris Motor Show opened its doors in October 2026, and it then took a place on the show floor.

Shape, paint and cabin

The body is a wedge with a low nose and a truncated tail, the style Alfa Romeo calls coda tronca. The shield-shaped Scudetto grille stays at the front, now with a backlit version of the marque's emblem. The rear doors are hinged at the back and open through touch controls set into the roof, while the glazing sits flush with the bodywork. The forged wheels carry six circular elements arranged on three spokes.

The paint is called Liquid Ink Red. An aluminium base sits under a tinted transparent layer, and the colour moves from red to black depending on the light and the angle you view it from.

Inside, the cabin is mostly red and seats two in front and two behind. A centre-console interface named the Magma Display mixes touch controls with physical ones. Ahead of the driver, two circular instrument displays can merge into a single display area.

Powertrain and chassis

The proposed hybrid layout teams a 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine with electric propulsion. A torque-converter automatic transmission, Q4 all-wheel drive and a carbon-fibre driveshaft complete the drivetrain. Underneath, the chassis design calls for air suspension, Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes and steer-by-wire steering.

The low drag figure is helped by the truncated tail and a low diffuser built into the bodywork.

How it came about

Alfa Romeo announced the name on 29 September 2026. It joins the Italian words cuore, meaning heart, and rosso, meaning red. The Centro Stile design team, led by Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos, shaped the car under the company's Bellezza Necessaria approach, which translates as necessary beauty.

Early studies used a single continuous form with no wheels, glazing or other details, so that the team could concentrate on proportions. Alfa Romeo says the concept explores the design and electrification of its future models, and it has not tied the car to a confirmed production programme.
