MINI's new Countryman edition adds all-terrain tyres, 19-inch wheels and a 15 mm suspension lift, with production in Leipzig from November 2026.
MINI has unveiled the Countryman Untamed Edition, a more rugged version of its largest model. It adds all-terrain tyres on 19-inch wheels and a suspension lift of 15 mm, whose availability varies by market. Production starts in Leipzig in November 2026, with a market launch in early 2027.
MINI announced the Countryman Untamed Edition on 6 October, adding a more rugged and adventure-focused version to its largest model range. The company says the edition offers more capability beyond paved roads through increased ground clearance in selected markets, all-terrain tyres and its ALL4 all-wheel drive system. Jean-Philippe Parain, head of the MINI brand, says the edition is aimed at customers who want a car that supports them in everyday life as well as on spontaneous getaways. Building starts at the BMW Group plant in Leipzig in November 2026, with the market launch scheduled for early 2027.
Suspension, tyres and styling
The suspension lift is 15 millimetres and raises ground clearance by as much as 19 millimetres, with the figure varying by market and powertrain. In North America the lift is available on all Untamed Edition variants, while in Europe it is offered only on the all-electric models. All-terrain tyres are standard in North America, optional in Europe and available as aftersales equipment elsewhere. The edition rides on 19-inch light-alloy wheels with five spokes.
The exterior has a new grille with vertical geometry, Dark Steel accents, protective films in matt black on the wheel arches, sills and Power Dome, and an Untamed logo on the C-pillar. Exterior colours include Hideaway Grey, Nomad Blue, Frozen Nomad Blue, Nanuq White and Midnight Black. MINI says Frozen Nomad Blue is the first matt paint finish to enter its series production.
Interior and outdoor range
Inside, the edition has Vescin Nightshade Blue sports seats with knitted shoulder and headrest areas, Cornflower Blue piping and stitching, and Dark Steel in place of Vibrant Silver trim. Rubber floor mats with a pattern inspired by natural rock formations are included. MINI also offers an optional tow bar for up to 2,000 kilograms, with a roof load of 75 kilograms while driving and 300 kilograms when stationary.
MINI has also developed an outdoor offer with a roof tent made with an Italian specialist, and a camping collection created with an outdoor equipment company. According to MINI, the roof tent can be opened in seconds using gas struts. The two electric models carry the following WLTP figures.
| Model | Energy consumption | Electric range |
|---|---|---|
| MINI Countryman E | 16.3 kWh/100 km | 454 to 500 km |
| MINI Countryman SE ALL4 | 18.8 kWh/100 km | 391 to 467 km |
Production and availability
The edition is built at the BMW Group plant in Leipzig from November 2026, with the market launch set for early 2027. Depending on the market, the edition is offered on the Countryman C, D and S ALL4, and on the all-electric Countryman E and SE ALL4.
